PBS documentary series Reel South seeks a skilled digital producer with a passion for short-form documentary and online storytelling. Our digital producer will play a critical role on our close-knit team, including packaging, posting, promoting, and tracking metrics on Reel South’s growing slate of independently produced short films. The new digital producer role is a six-month, part-time, freelance/contract position beginning in January 2024, with a likely renewal through the end of 2024 (and possibly into 2025). Payment and contract employment will be conducted with PBS North Carolina.
This position is remote, with preference given to applicants based in the American South.

Reel South’s mission has long centered on the belief that the people of the contemporary American South are often overly simplified and misrepresented in our national media. Deliverables and Compensation
A clear scope of work and deliverables will be provided, and payments will be made monthly based on an invoice submitted by the producer. Time commitment is estimated at 10-20 hours per week depending on the month. The compensation for this role is firmly set to $2,500 / month.
